About Krákr

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website.

Krákr Creative is my love project, built on many years of random attempts at new types of art and an ongoing desire to make weird little drawings for a living.

I started Krákr Creative as a way to participate in Artist Alleys. It’s ended up growing from there to be a collection of all the kinds of art I’ve picked up over the years. I adore what I do and I hope you find something here that you love, too.

Krákr is based in Brisbane, Australia.

My original works often feature the things I love – flora, fauna, folklore and fantasy. I’m a big fan of DnD and video games, which will pop up in a lot of my art, too.

I make every item in this shop myself, using tools and things in my home. None of my items involve any AI generation. Instead, I find my inspiration from photographers, other artists and the world around me.

What does ‘Krákr’ mean and how to pronounce it?

Krákr is an Old Norse term meaning crow or raven. My closest understanding of how to pronounce it is to use Icelandic pronunciation (as it is the modern language that most closely resembles Old Norse).

“Kr – ouw – krr”

The á is pronounced like ‘ou’ in ‘house’ or ‘ow’ in ‘now’.

That said, most people will call it ‘crow-ker’ or ‘cracker’. I won’t mind if you do too – pick what’s comfortable to you.

Why cage something that’s meant to fly free?
